About the Readability & Content Analyzer

What is the Content Analyzer?

The Readability & Content Analyzer is a free, privacy-first writing assistant designed for copywriters, students, SEO professionals, and public speakers. Moving far beyond a basic word and character counter, this tool performs real-time linguistic analysis on your text. It instantly calculates reading and speaking times, generates a visual keyword density report, and grades your text using standard readability formulas. Because the text processing relies entirely on local browser scripts, your essays, corporate documents, and unpublished manuscripts remain completely secure and are never sent to a remote server.

Understanding the Flesch Reading Ease Score

To help you write clearer, more accessible content, the tool grades your text using the industry-standard Flesch Reading Ease formula. This mathematical algorithm evaluates the total number of syllables, words, and sentences in your text to determine how difficult it is to comprehend.

  • 90–100 (Very Easy): Easily understood by an average 5th grader. Best for mass consumer copy.
  • 60–70 (Standard): Easily understood by 8th and 9th graders. This is the optimal target for standard web articles and blog posts.
  • 30–50 (Difficult): Best suited for college-level readers. Common in technical writing and B2B whitepapers.
  • 0–30 (Very Difficult): Highly complex, academic, or scientific writing with long sentences and multisyllabic words.

Reading Time & Speaking Pace Calculator

If you are writing a script for a YouTube video, a podcast, or a keynote presentation, knowing your word count isn't enough—you need to know how long it will take to deliver. The tool estimates both silent reading time and spoken delivery time. By using the pace toggles, you can customize the Words Per Minute (WPM) to match your personal presentation style, ranging from a slow, deliberate speech (100 WPM) to a fast-paced conversational tempo (160 WPM).

Word Frequency & SEO Optimization

For search engine optimization (SEO), analyzing your keyword density is crucial. The tool automatically maps out your top 15 most frequently used words in a visual bar chart. To keep the data useful, the analyzer includes a smart "Skip common words" toggle. When enabled, it filters out standard English stop words (like "the", "and", "with", "have"), allowing the true thematic keywords of your article to rise to the top. This makes it incredibly easy to verify that your content remains highly targeted for your intended search queries without accidentally keyword stuffing.
